What We Do

In 2022, GM and POSCO Future M announced that they are working with the governments of Canada and Quebec to build a new facility in Bécancour, Quebec, that will support GM’s development of the EV battery supply chain in North America.  Construction is underway, and once complete, the facility will have capacity to produce 30,000 tonnes per year of cathode active material (CAM), a key EV battery material. The site will help supply materials for the batteries that will power GM’s electric vehicle portfolio, and it will create around 200 full-time jobs.
