Recent changes to the GM Card Program give you more opportunities to help immediate family members purchase or lease a new Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac.

Check out these changes to the GM Card Program Rules:

  • We have eliminated the requirement to retain a $500 Earnings Balance on your account when transferring to immediate family members not living at your address.
  • We have also changed the rules to allow you to combine your Earnings with immediate family members who live at your address. 2

Eligible family members (parents, partner, spouse, brother, sister, child, grandchild, grandparents and parents of spouse/ partner) can redeem up to $3,500 1 in GM Card Earnings toward the Total Purchase Price of any eligible new GM vehicle (subject to Vehicle Redemption Allowances). Please keep in mind GM Earnings must be redeemed by December 31, 2017.

How to transfer your Earnings:

Simply call 1-888-446-6232 and advise the representative you'd like to transfer your Earnings. You will be given a Transfer Reference Number to provide to your eligible family member. They will need to bring this number to the GM Dealership when they purchase or lease their new eligible vehicle.

2Earnings combined, transferred or redeemed are subject to Vehicle Redemption Allowances. Primary GM Card members may transfer all or a portion of their GM Card Earnings to the following eligible immediate family members: parents, partner, spouse, brother, sister, child, grandchild, grandparent, and parents of spouse or partner. Eligible immediate family members who are each Primary GM Card members and who reside at the same address at the time of redemption, may combine their GM Card Earnings. Combined Earnings cannot be transferred outside of the Primary GM Card members' household. Proof of relationship and/or residency are required.

In order to transfer your Earnings to an immediate family member, the Primary Card member must call The GM Card Redemption Centre at 1-888-446-6232 to authorize the transfer and provide required transferee information. At the time of redemption, the transferee must identify themselves to the Dealer as the GM Card Earnings recipient. For more details please refer to the current Program Rules. Any Earnings that have been accumulated do not constitute property of the Program participants. Earnings may not be brokered, bartered or sold and may not be transferred as part of a domestic relations matter. GM is not responsible and bears no liability for disagreements between participants concerning use of Earnings accumulated under a GM Card account.
