Gourmet Food & Wine Expo

Buick was a major sponsor at the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo in Toronto, ON.

Based on the success last year of Café Verano, Buick brought it back for another year.

The Café Verano coffee shop served up complimentary lattes and a comfortable place to sit down and relax. Plus, visitors got to sit in and experience all 6 of the Buick vehicles on display.

Chevrolet Hockey Helmet Program

Chevrolet was extremely proud to be emphasizing the importance of safety in hockey to kids across Canada this year with the launch of the Hockey Helmet Program: a national initiative to give any child born in 2007 and registered with Hockey Canada the opportunity to receive a FREE Chevrolet-branded Bauer 2100 Jr. Helmet (Retail value $54.99).

National Women's Show

The Color Run

Originating in the U.S., The Color Run ^TM calls itself "The happiest 5k on the planet" and is a unique experience focused less on speed and more on crazy, colourful fun with friends and family.

The Color Run ^TM made its only Canadian stop in Montreal on October 13th at Gilles Villeneuve Circuit, and Chevrolet was out in full force, featuring the many colours of the all-new Spark.

Colour runners of all different ages, shapes, sizes, and speeds participated, and everyone toeing the start line had a blast.

Canadian Soccer Association

Canada's 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil ^TM qualifier came to an unfortunate close this fall when Canada lost to Honduras on October 16th.

With the top two teams from each group advancing to the final round of qualifiers, Canada found itself 3rd in the group at the end of Round 3.

As a proud supporter and official vehicle of the Canadian Soccer Association, Chevrolet shared in the excitement of Team Canada's journey and looks forward to the next chance to show the world that Canada is a soccer nation!

Niagara Wine Festival

September 21-30 2012 - St. Catherines, ON

Buick was a major sponsor at Canada's largest wine festival, the Niagara Wine Festival, in St. Catharines, ON: an annual destination for showcasing the best in wine and food, as well as arts and culture.

Buick set up the popular Café Verano coffee shop in Montebello Park and offered free lattes and a comfortable place for festival-goers to sit down and relax. Over 6,000 coffees were served throughout the Festival!

After enjoying their coffee, visitors could also take on The Buick Performance Challenge game for a chance to win a VIP ticket to the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo.

Nuit Blanche

Scotiabank Nuit Blanche is Toronto's annual sunset-to-sunrise celebration of contemporary art and innovation, and Chevrolet was back for another year as one of the primary sponsors.

Over 12 hours, 1,000,000 people took to the streets of downtown Toronto. Visual installations were everywhere, including galleries, museums, shopping centres and unexpected places.

This year's attractions included a Fun House Test Drive inspired by Artist Thom Sokoloski, along with Chevrolet's own Fun House!

Safe & Fun Hockey Festival

The Chevrolet Safe & Fun Hockey Program successfully wrapped up the 2012 season after tour stops in Sherbrooke, QC, Ottawa, ON, Moncton, NB and Calgary, AB.

This year's stops included on-ice hands-on sessions with hockey legends Bobby Orr and Cassie Campbell-Pascall and off-ice activities geared toward promoting 'Respect & Responsibility' through every facet of the game.

In addition, the attending parents also got the chance to take part in Hockey Canada seminars designed to effectively communicate the philosophy of a game that is truly 'Safe & Fun'.

Since Bobby Orr and Chevrolet teamed up in 1999 to start the Chevrolet Safe & Fun Hockey Program, over 70,000 kids have attended the events and had a great time learning about our national sport. Chevrolet is proud to encourage respect and responsible behaviour in the game of hockey.

An introductory video narrated by award-winning Canadian sports journalist Stephen Brunt and interviews with medalists Christine Sinclair, Roseline Filion and Benoit Hout were featured on Chevrolet Social Media Channels and everyday Canadians were asked to share what drives them, too.

CNE Test Drive

Rogers Cup

Buick served up another exciting year at the Rogers Cup, this time hosting the Buick Pavilion, our VIP lounge on the Rogers Cup grounds in both Toronto and Montreal.

Everyone in the Buick Pavilion enjoyed complimentary Café Verano coffee, three interactive vehicle displays, and two lucky fans were given the chance to upgrade their tickets to Buick front-row seats with the Inspired Seats giveaway.

Outside of the grounds, the top tennis players in the world were shuttled to and from the venue in 25 Buick vehicles. While being driven, 5 of the top players in each city participated in "Beyond the Baseline" - an informal, fun, interview that was featured on the Rogers Cup grounds as well as online at rogerscup.com.

Vancouver Chinatown Festival

Chevrolet was the official vehicle sponsor of the 2012 Chinatown Festival in Vancouver, B.C. This year's festival theme was "Hello Dragon", since 2012 is the year of the dragon.

Highlights of the festival included multicultural stage performances, an open-air market and kids' activities. Chevrolet was there with four vehicles on display and some great interactive activities.

Osheaga

Chevrolet was back again this year at Osheaga, one of the most important emerging music and arts festivals in Canada.

Located right in the heart of Île Sainte-Hélène, Osheaga offers a chance to discover highly acclaimed local talents and hear some of the biggest names in the industry. 2012’s highlights included Snoop Lion, The Black Keys, Justice, Metric, Sigur Rós, City and Colour, Down With Webster and more.

Calgary Stampede

This July, the Calgary Stampede celebrated its centennial and GMC was proud to be a part of the festivities!

To help commemorate the significance of 100 years of the Calgary Stampede, GMC created a Calgary Stampede Centennial Edition GMC Sierra, which is available only in a limited production run. The incredibly popular "Saddle Up A Sierra" contest was back again, with a 2012 flair - the prize vehicle was none other than the 2012 Calgary Stampede Centennial Edition GMC Sierra 1500.

The GMC Rangeland Derby played host to the exclusive "GMC Denali Fan Zone". GMC also kept the fans entertained with many other facets of the Calgary Stampede, including the Kinsmen Lotteries and Stampede Courtesy Car program and, of course, the full line-up of 2012 GMC vehicles.

Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Pre-Launch

On July 10th, the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games launched their three-year countdown at Nathan Phillips Square. As a premium sponsor and supporter of the "Get Involved" volunteer program, Chevrolet was there with a 41-flag Pan Am Cruze and the all-new Spark.

Over 750 unique magnetic name tag buttons were created at the event and attached to the flag decals on the Pan Am Cruze.

The Pan Am Games will take place in July/August 2015 in 17 municipalities throughout the Golden Horseshoe and GTA and will be a nationwide celebration of athletics, culture and community. There will be over 8,000 athletes and officials from 42 countries (North, Central and South America and the Caribbean), 23,000 volunteers and 48 sports across 40 venues.

A fleet of 1,000 Chevrolets will transport athletes, officials and guests during the Games, and a smaller fleet will be supporting the event in the interim.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park Sports Car Doubleheader Weekend (Cadillac Racing)

June 22-24, 2012 – Bowmanville, ON

On June 23 – 24, the Cadillac race team arrived at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the only Canadian stop on the World Challenge tour, and Cadillac drivers Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim were there to maintain their 1st and 2nd overall points totals respectively. At the end of the weekend, Cadillac held the top spot in the manufacture’s point total, and the team had two great races with one podium finish! Select CTS and CTS- V owners (along with their guests) were invited to watch the weekend's races from our VIP tent. They not only received a sneak peek at the highly anticipated Cadillac ATS and XTS but were also able to test their driving skills on the virtual track with the Cadillac Driving Simulator. Taste of Asia

Cadillac Driver Training

The 3rd instalment of the Cadillac Driver Training Program took place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in Bowmanville, ON. This year's program provided a unique opportunity for 2009-2012 CTS/CTS- V owners to drive their car on a world-class racetrack!

The full-day session featured skill development exercises and 1-on-1 track lapping with highly skilled and experienced driving coaches. Above all, it was a fantastic opportunity for Cadillac enthusiasts to meet and interact with other owners who share a passion for all things Cadillac.

Montreal Mall Tour

The GM Dealers Association of Greater Montreal launched a new program to promote new Chevrolet models: a tour of the shopping malls in the Greater Montreal area.

From March to June, a mobile booth toured local Montreal areas, showcasing the Sonic, Cruze, Orlando and Equinox. Once onsite, clients were able to make an appointment directly with a dealer in their area for a test drive.

BBPA Harry Jerome Awards

This year Chevrolet helped celebrate 30 years of the BBPA (Black Business and Professional Association) Harry Jerome Awards.

The awards took place on April 28th at the Toronto Congress Centre, where Kevin Williams presented the Chevrolet Technology & Innovation Award to this year's winner, Dr. David C.K. Tay.

Chevrolet's continued active involvement with the BBPA includes giving out two scholarships for Excellence in Engineering and one for Excellence in Marketing & Communications.

Vaisakhi Parade

Vaisakhi is an ancient Punjabi New Year's Day celebration and harvest festival that celebrates giving - and Chevrolet is proud to be a part of it. This year the event brought together over 260,000 people for a weekend of fun featuring a fair and an all-day parade.

Chevrolet's vehicle display featured the Cruze, Equinox and Silverado and the Feats of Strength activity - where attendees proved their strength by physically towing a Silverado 20 feet.

During the parade on Saturday, a fully decaled Silverado was utilized as the lead vehicle that towed the "offerings" float, which, in the spirit of giving, dispensed great gifts throughout the parade to participants.

TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival (TWSSF)

At this year's festival (April 12-22), Chevrolet brought in a tricked-out shipping container, retrofitted to show off Chevrolet vehicles on the ground level with an upper deck where DJs were spinning music and entertaining the crowd.

On top of all that, the winner of the festival's signature event, the Big Air Competition, walked away with a brand-new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic.

Chevrolet Party on the Plaza

Chevrolet was the presenting sponsor of the Vancouver Canucks Party on the Plaza during the 2012 Playoffs. The Chevrolet Party on the Plaza was a pre-game festival that allowed fans to come to the North Plaza of Rogers Arena prior to the game to partake in fanfare and show their Canucks pride.

Over 45,000 people over the course of 3 home games had a chance to enter to win a pair of tickets to the next Canucks Playoff home game. Plus, fans could also sign a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS with well-wishes for the team in their quest for the Stanley Cup.

Québec City Remparts

Chevrolet is proud to support the Quebec City Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).

This season, Chevrolet introduced the team's seventh player, and number one fan, the Chevrolet Orlando. All decked out in the Quebec Remparts' colours and sporting the number 7, the Orlando was surrounded by hockey fans showing their unconditional support for the two-time Memorial Cup champions. The Chevrolet Sonic also made its hockey debut, as it paraded on the ice in between periods at the Colisée Pepsi.

Auto Shows

General Motors enjoyed another fantastic year on the Canadian auto show tour! With stops in Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, Quebec City, Calgary, Ottawa and Vancouver, over 800,000 people in total attended the various shows.

2012 saw the debut of a new Cadillac display and the Cadillac Urban Luxury Concept (ULC). The ATS and XTS made appearances in Toronto and Vancouver, with just the XTS making it to Calgary as well. The 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and Spark were present at every show. The awesome Camaro ZL1 and Corvette ZR1 were huge draws at every show, and both of these cars were open to the public. Who else but Chevrolet would open a $140,000 car to anyone who wanted to sit in it?

Special vehicles, from the Z-Spec Spark to the Volt Chassis cutaway and the GMC Sierra All-Terrain Concept Truck, were also featured at certain shows. And we can't forget Café Verano - a place where guests could relax and enjoy luxurious coffee blends. Planning begins in May as we look to make the 2013 tour even better.

OLG License to Win Grand Prize Event

Toronto Wine & Cheese Show

The all-new Buick Verano was showcased at The Toronto Wine and Cheese Show in Mississauga.

The Verano was surrounded by a tasty selection of gourmet food, wine, beer, and spirits, as well as interactive and educational events throughout the show.

"Café Verano presented by Buick" was back, and attendees were invited to inspire their senses with Café Verano - a luxurious blend of smooth and spicy coffees with a rich and lasting finish. They could even relax in the lounge and enter The Best Car Contest Ever, all while enjoying their coffee.

Montreal RV Show

For the second year in a row, the GM dealers of the Quebec Area were at the Montreal RV Show. It was the perfect place to introduce the Equinox, Acadia, Sierra Nevada 2500 and the Sierra 1500 - incredible Chevrolet and GMC vehicles that are the perfect fit for serious camping and motor home enthusiasts.

RV show attendees received a $250 credit applicable to any purchase or lease of a Chevrolet, Buick, GMC or Cadillac model that was on display at the show.

Buick Verano at the Davis Cup

This year's Davis Cup was hosted at Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre at UBC. As a proud sponsor, Buick was there, featuring the 2013 Verano and some cool giveaways.

Buick also provided staff and volunteers with some great wheels to use during the tournament. The Davis Cup showcases the true value of tennis - uniting teams, players and fans from around the world.
