Vince Ng
“GM is an exciting company to work for; it is multi cultural, very global with lots of opportunities.”
- Vince Ng, Information Technology Manager

Vince Ng

My name is Vince Ng. I am an Information Technology Manager at GM. I work at the Canadian Headquarters in Oshawa. I was hired in 1995 as a co-op student where I worked at the Oshawa Truck Assembly plant. Once I finished school, I was hired full-time into the Systems Engineering department at the plant. My first assignment was to oversee the Automated Guided Vehicle system in the plant, in other words, I was responsible for managing 484 moving robots in the truck assembly process. Since then, I have held various positions within GM including Senior Systems Engineer, IT in the Oshawa Car assembly plant, Manager of IT supporting HR, finance, labour, legal and corporate affairs. My most recent role is the IT Manager for Vehicle Sales, Service and Marketing.

Karan Makvandi
"What I like most about my role is I can have an immediate impact on the business."
- Karan Makvandi, Export Compliance Engineer

Karan Makvandi

My name is Karan Makvandi and I am Export Compliance Engineer at the Oshawa Assembly Plant. My focus is on product quality and legal compliance required for export vehicles. I led an engineering compliance project to obtain legal status to export our vehicles to China. As a result, Oshawa obtained a compliance certificate to ship the Chevrolet Camaro to this country. I also implemented the export shipping protection process in the plant that protects our vehicles against elements once they are on ocean carriers. I am also member of a North America team to overhaul GM quality management system documentation software.
